I was thinking of upgrading my injectors and I've been looking for the cheapest way to get some. I thought I saw something about DSM injectors being used on honda's before. Do DSM injectors fit? I think they flow somewhere around 400cc/min to 450cc/min. I'm still trying to beat the detonation on my Civic.

Running injectors that large without something to control the fuel will cause the car to run too rich especially under idle. You can run Prelude injectors which are 340cc, still too big in my opinion. Are you still running 6 psi?

340's!!!! I am still having some problems with 270's on my GS-R. You must have something else going on if you are having problems and think you need that large of an injector. 310's work great up to about 12-13psi boost. Unless you are turning 350-400HP you should have no need for bigger than 310s. For 6-10psi on a Civic engine, you should be fine with 270s.

I'm just desperate to get rid of the pinging I've have from day one. I've had this kit on for over a year and for over 40,000 miles and it has always pinged. I'm lucky that my engine is still working. Thanks for the feedback though. When I get enough money I'd like to spring for the endyn upgrade or just go for the JR 8 psi upgrade. I guess you could say that I was trying to get rid of my current problem and plan ahead all at once. I'll look into getting some prelude injectors then. Do you guys know of any other cars out there that have compatible injectors that flow over 300cc/min stock? Thanks again guys.

I'm also looking at injectors...want to get rid of the regulator and go with bigger injectors and ECU programing with stock fuel pressure. I'm looking to really get the SC "tuned to perfection". Also want my MPG back. I like this ECU I'm hearing about under the post "JRSC Questions".

Actually, my RC injectors were cheaper than stock injectors, so I don't know why you would look for stock from some other car unless you were trying to find them used/salvage. Call RC and check, but I am telling you there is no way that a 1.6 motor with 310 injectors is going to idle at all. The computer can only shut the injectors down so far. If you have pinging you have some other problem (spark, fuel, air, temperature) check them all. I definately would get an air fuel meter on the car and see what is happening. Maybe you have 1 bad injector? I don't know for sure, but I wouldn't recommend anything bigger than 270's for your application, and even then you will probably lose a little idle quality.

I know of a Civic with a D16 motor that is running RC 310cc injectors with just the stock ECU and no other kind of fuel management.
He's running 15 psi with a JRSC though, but it idles fine with the stock ECU.
For 6 psi you would definitely not want to go with anything near 310cc. I'd say more like 270cc like VTeCno said.

You could run 310 cc's on a d16, just get the b&m command flow to lower your idle fuel pressure.

Are you talking about the Zdyne ECU? It's kinda pricey but sounds like a neat idea.

Waveoff,
Here is what you need to solve your detonation problem. Assuming you are running 6 psi do not get injectors any larger than 270 cc. Get in on the group buy for a J&S knock sensor. See Lundgrens page for details on the group buy. The reason why Zdyne can large injectors such as 450cc is because they have altered the ECU to control the duty cycle of larger injectors. With the modified ECU it will idle like stock. With the stock ECU it will run WAY TOO rich. If you're already blowing black smoke you are too rich as it is.
My advice is to buy the J&S with the dual monitor. I believe your detonation is igntion related more so than fuel related. You're obviously already running rich. You also have the BTM right? If it is tuned properly you shouldn't have any problems. Perhaps you have a faulty distributor? When was the last time you had it replaced or for that matter when was the last time you had a service on your car? I hope some of this has helped.
